Citco Monthly Hedge Fund Update - April 2026

Hedge funds recorded one of their best monthly returns this decade in April as they bounced back sharply after March’s decline, with all investment strategy groupings seeing positive numbers.

The weighted average return across the $1.3trn of hedge fund assets administered by the Citco group of companies (Citco) came in at 5.6% for the month, with Equity and Global Macro-focused strategies particularly strong.

Nearly 90% of funds had positive returns in April, with the rebound in performance taking year-to-date (YTD) returns to 4.1%.
