Trade operations outsourcing took centre stage in the first quarter of 2026 after trade volumes rebounded from Q4's dip.

With market volatility spiking in March after the eruption of conflict in the Middle East, trade volumes jumped sharply, the latest data from the Citco group of companies’ (Citco) Middle Office Solutions team showed.

The first quarter saw the number of affirmed trades jump by more than 10%, driven primarily by a surge in March when activity was over 50% higher than the previous month.
